I was tasked to create an online experience for Fly UX, a start-up airline, to provide an intuitive, easy-to-use platform for their target users. This project was part of my studies at the UX Design Institute.
I leveraged my UX design expertise to create a custom website for Fly UX that stood out from its competition. With a special focus on the flight-booking process, I developed an intuitive and seamless user experience that simplified the search, find, and select functions for online users.
After conducting user research, I gathered that users found annoying advertisements, confusing navigation, and constantly changing prices in a flight search to be discouraging. Additionally, they felt limited due to the lack of comparison capabilities or the ability to share their search results with others.
My solution was to make the process of booking a flight completely transparent by allowing users to view and edit all performed actions on one screen at any time during their booking process.
Finally, I designed a medium-fidelity prototype to validate FLY UX design ideas. After testing and refining the prototype, I provided a handoff for development which included detailed wireframes with instructions.
Clickable medium fidelity prototype can be viewed in Figma.
User testing of the clickable prototype illustrated that the flight booking process was speedy, unimposing, and straightforward - outshining other airlines. Notably, testers were impressed by the options of easy sharing of search results and the ability to alter the search query at any step of the booking process.
